HPAI virus of the subtype H5N1 was detected in two commercial layer flocks in Klepp municipality in Rogaland County. Prior to this, virus of the same subtype was found in wild birds in the same geographical area.
Classical BSE (bovine spongiforme encephalopathy) has never been detected in Norway. In 2015, however, a case of atypical BSE (H-variant) was diagnosed.
